Humble beginnings.
Future certainty.

Our story began in 1976 when John Wallace founded Wallacia Homes. As the company grew, so did its ambition, evolving into Wallandra Building and shifting focus to industrial construction. The Wallace family later established Akura in 2015.

We’re a people business, first and foremost, building long-term relationships by living our values.

We love what we do

We’re a diverse team united by a shared goal: to design and build exceptional properties. More than just a job; it’s been our passion since 1976.

Actions speak louder than words

Our relationships are built on a foundation of honesty and reliability. We’re people who deliver on our promises, do what we say we’ll do, and are true to our word.

Building intelligence

We build with cutting-edge design and manufacturing processes. Our in-house capabilities and construction software give us control over cost and quality. Our people challenge the status quo to ensure we continually evolve.

Simply more

We want to create long-term relationships through strategic design and delivery excellence. We always look to find opportunities to deliver real value through quality, time or cost efficiencies, even when you don’t ask.

Enduring quality

For generations, we’ve built quality industrial spaces where people thrive and businesses grow. We’re as proud of the enduring relationships we’ve built as we are of the legacy we’re creating.

From humble beginnings to leading industrial specialists, our timeline highlights key moments that shaped our journey.

  • 90% of excavation material is reused
  • 100% of waste steel and blast material is recycled
  • 100% of waste concrete is fully recycled

Local at Heart

We hire and work with local people, sharing our expertise while training the next generation of tradespeople, builders, engineers and project managers. By manufacturing locally, we create meaningful jobs, strengthen communities and fuel regional economies. We’re building more than projects; we’re building opportunities.
